Q: Do you accept team registrations?
A: Team Registrations are permitted in Travel and High School Divisions. Head Coaches of Travel Teams will have autonomy over their rosters.
Q: Can the team have additional practices during the week?
A: Travel teams can practice as frequently as they desire. The location, days and times will be determined by your coach.
Q: My athlete doesn’t have a coach but is looking for a more competitive league. Can he/she still play in the travel division?
A: Yes! Players that do not have a relationship with a coach or team can register as “Free Agents”. The league will create a Free Agent Team or the Free Agents will be drafted/placed on an existing travel team that has less than 10 players. Free Agents will participate in a player evaluation/combine for the travel team coaches to assess the Free Agent Pool of Players.
Q: Are there any rules regarding playing time?
A: Travel teams do not have playing time minimums or maximums. The Head Coach will be responsible for determining playing time and positions for their players.
Q: How many players are on a team?
A: Coaches will be able to select players they want with a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 12 players per team. If a Travel Team has less than 10 Players the league has the right to add free agent travel players to the roster.
Q: Where and who do travel teams play?
A: Travel team will play league games regionally combining with other leagues in the Perfect Performance NFL Flag Family. For example, the Yorktown, Hampton, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach Leagues Travel Teams will play each other at one location for the season.
Q: What age groups/divisions do you offer?
A: The Travel Division is for players in 3rd Grade-High School. We will have a 3rd/4th Grade Division, 5th-6th Grade Division, 7th-8th Grade Division, Middle School Girls Division, High School Boys Division, and High School Girls Divisions. Divisions are based on the grade the athlete will be in during the season.Players can never play down a grade division.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: No refunds will be given within 30 days of the start of the season.
Q: Who are the coaches?
A: Parent volunteers. Once teams are assembled, parents will be recruited to coach their team. Training is provided for all parents who wish to be a coach. No experience is necessary.
Q: Do all players need a mouth piece?
A: Yes. All players will need a mouth piece before stepping on the field.
Q: Does the league supply uniforms?
A: Every Flag Football player in our program receives an NFL reversible team jersey and a flag belt to keep with your registration. The only items you will need to purchase, if you do not have them, are mouth guards and shorts with no pockets. Cleats are encouraged but not required.
Q: Who are the officials?
A: Most of our referees are High School Athletic Association certified. These are the same guys who you would find officiating local High School games. Each official is trained, licensed, insured and certified through the state. They are very good at what they do and will call a fair game for both sides.
